PSG sign bournemouth Defender Illia Zabarnyi for reported £ 54.5 million.

Paris St. Germain has completed the signing of defender Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth.

The Ukraine International has agreed a five-year contract with the European Champions in a deal worth £ 54.5 million and 2.6 million GBP of performance-related add-ons.

The 22 -year -old Zabarnyi came to the cherries from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023 and in all competitions there was 86 appearances for the Premier League team.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain, the best club in the world, with the best project,” he told the Ligue 1 Club website.

“I am here to give everything on the field, and I look forward to making my debut and making the fans.”

Zabarnyi is the third defender of the first choice that Bournemouth leaves this summer after Dean Huijsen’s departure to Real Madrid for 50 million GBP and Milos Kerkez ‘move to Liverpool to Liverpool.

During his time on the south coast, he played an instrumental role in successive record runs by helping Andoni Iraola’s team to exceed the highest points of the club in the Premier League twice.

The central defender born in Kiev, who has 49 international caps, was elected for the Cherries’ seasonal player for the 2023-24 campaign.
