Lloyds customers can soon use a new app function to submit coins and banknotes to their account and at the same time hand in a package or to take half a liter of milk into stores.
The function uses a barcode so that the people can store up to 300 GBP per day in notes and coins up to a maximum of 600 GBP per month.
People can pay money with PayPoint at more than 30,000 locations.
Nick Wiles, Managing Director of PayPoint, said that the network offers “a variety of essential services in the heart of the municipalities across Great Britain for everything, from banking, supply companies, package, cash and state services.
“The ability of Lloyds customers to add cash deposits to their accounts at over 30,000 PayPoint locations offers more comfort and access for customers near their apartment.”
After the barcode is shown that is scanned and the money deposits, the money will appear in accounts within minutes, said Lloyds.
The function will be available from August 26th. Customers of Lloyds and the Brands Bank of Scotland and Halifax can access the “everyday area” in their app and generate a barcode that remains valid for two hours.
Customers can continue to use any branch of Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland for their daily banking business or pay in cash in more than 11,500 post offices in cash, said the bank.
Gabby Collins, payment director at Lloyds, said: “Our latest app function enables customers to pay in cash in their local PayPoint in just a few minutes – ideal if they submit for milk or a package.”
