Once again in a professional environment in Monaco, “the simple part began” for Pogba.

If the exquisite gifted ball player was less concerned about getting his touch back, it would be more difficult to reduce the fitness and intensity of an elite athlete.

A month later, Pogba went into the second phase of his program: individual work on the field, often with the ball.

“I’m determined,” he said on his arrival. “I want to come back to the field. But it will take as long as it takes.”

“Everything goes in the right direction,” General Manager of Monaco Thiago Scuro told AFP.

“He has started meetings on the field and is making progress. The timing is on the right track, the process is positive, without red flags or setbacks so far.”

Pogba’s progress was monitored by Monaco trainer Adi Huetter, who has so far been impressed by his commitment and how quickly he integrated into a squad in which he is the older statesman.

For Scuro, the main moment is “when (pogba) is able to participate in all training sessions with the group”.

“The intensity, the pressure and the level are very high. He must be able to repeat this training burden every day. We will then see how his body adapts.”
