The new season of the top English flight is rapid and thus comes the long-awaited return of the Fantasy Premier League.
Since we give ourselves an insight into potential top performers before the season, many players will already have selected their teams for the opening week of the 2025/26 campaign, even though new obligations and potential injuries could change even in this phase.

But if we go in GW1, it will not be familiar to the most experienced FPL players, and the Gamemaker will throw in a handful of new rules to wrap our heads around.
Make sure that these changes could prove the decisive factor in collecting enough points to be victorious in their mini-Leagues.
Here you will find everything you need to know about the FPL 2025/26 regulations.
Defensive contributions
Outfield players can now acquire valuable fantasy points through their defensive contributions.
This season, every defender, who scores a total of 10 shares, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBites), achieves two additional FPL points in a single game.

With regard to midfielder and strikers, they will also be rewarded for permits, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBIRT) for balls, with all their entire defensive contributions. This means that you have to make 12 defensive contributions in order to obtain your two FPL points instead of the 10 points required for defenders.
Regulate changes to the templates
Fantasy assists are often awarded to the player from the cake team who has the finishing touch before a goal is converted and assigns the player three points. This season what counts as an assist was further simplified.
This was done to recognize players for their contributions to the goal and to reduce the degree of subjectivity that is associated with support in decrypting.

One of the most important changes here will lead to the intended goal no longer becomes a factor if the two criteria fulfills: the scorer that receives the ball in the penalty area, and there is only a defensive touch before the ball reaches the scorer. This means that even if a pass or a cross is distracted in the way of a completely different player – reaching an unintentional goal – if it rates, the passerby is still rewarded with three big fat points for the assist.
However, there are reservations. No support is given if the defensive is a pass – such as: Two defensive details also mean that the support is not given. And when the scorer gets the ball outside the box, the intended goal comes back into play, with a judgment being made as to whether they were the goal of the pass.
Elsewhere, an assist is now given for a certain defense error: if the defending player tries a pass. Here, too, there can only be a maximum of a defensive grade in test fun to receive support.
There is also a change in the auxiliary rules to handballs. If a gate is scored from a free kick or a punishment that has agreed from a handball, the player who carried out the last attack campaign before handball was given is done. It is crucial that handball no longer has to be “forced” that the assist is awarded to the grant. If the handball follows another defender of a touch, there is no support.
The fans have to deal with a number of new rules in FPL this season (Fantasy Premier League)
Two sentences chips
Fantasy managers will be more than aware of the four chips that can be used by far. These are wildcard, free hit, triple captain and bank boost.

Well, you have two season chips for the season, which are to be played in every half of the season.
The first set of chips has to be played before the GW19 downline passes on Tuesday, December 30th, at 6:30 p.m. GMT. It is not possible that chips will be transferred to the second half of 2025/26.
However, you can notice the lack of a certain chip from last season …
Assistant Manager Chip removed
This season there will be no Assistant -Manager chip in FPL.
This chip introduced last season enabled the players to collect points on the basis of the performance of a selected Premier League manager over a period of three games.

But after only one campaign it was scrapped.
Additional transmissions for AFCON
For the Premier League managers, the Africa Cup of Nations and the subsequent Exodus of the most important players can represent a serious stumbling block in the season. The same applies to fantasy managers.
To support the fight, the managers in the GW16 receive additional free transfers to plan the tournament that takes place between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026.
The total number of free transfers available to the managers is exceeded to the maximum possible number of five in GW16 in order to take into account the possibility that some players leave for the tournament early.

Changes to the bonus point system
The following improvements were made to the system to distribute additional points from games to players.
The Bonus Points system (BPS) uses a number of statistics that are delivered by Opta, with each player being assigned a performance evaluation.
The players, who are in the top three BPPs for each game, receive bonus points -three points for the player with the highest score, two up to the second best and one to the third.
How are bonus point bonds solved?
When the first place gives a tie, players 1 and 2 receive 3 points each and the player 3 receives 1 point. If there is a tie for second place, players get 1 3 points and players 2 and 3 each get 2 points. If there is a draw for third place, players get 1 3 points, players 2 get 2 points and players 3 and 4 each get 1 point.

Goalkeeper saves
In the past seasons, goalkeepers collected two points in the BPS for every storage they have made. However, the firing location is an additional factor this season. A goalkeeper collects three points in the BPS if the shot is excluded from the penalty area or two points if the shot is removed from outside the area.
A penalty saving has decreased from nine points in the BPS to eight points this season. If you throw the three points for a saving from a shot in the box, the total amount for this special action is 11 points.
Goalline explanations
The players now get nine points in the BPS, from three points of last season.

Penalty
There is a new metric “punitive objectives” to help users differ from other goals achieved.
One player earns 12 points in the BPS to achieve a punishment, regardless of his position in Fpl. Previously, strikers received 24 points, midfielder earned 18 points and defenders earned 12 points for the evaluation of a punishment. The same figures apply to all non-penalt goals not achieved in 2025/26.
Successful duels
The two points for each “successful duels (net)” – which corresponds to “Tackles Won” Minus “Tackles Lost” – have changed.
Now every “Tackle Won” gets two points in one game.
