Chatgpt was forced to partially turn back a large new update after the users were asked.
Last week Chatgpt Creators Openai Gpt-5, a new version of the model, revealed the chatbot. Before the publication, the Openai boss Sam Altman and others tried to point out that the new publication would be revolutionary and could lead to major changes in the world.
However, the answer was subdued and some users have proposed that the new version of GPT is actually less useful than its predecessor GPT-4O.
In addition, the new version has removed some functions. Before that, for example, the users could select between different models, depending on what they wanted-but GPT-5 brings a “router” with them that tries to do this automatically.
Some also complained that the tone of the new model was unsatisfactory. Users who thought they had built up a relationship with the old model suggested that the update led to the use of the system less satisfactory.
Now Mr. Altman has said that the company partially rolls the update back and gives users the opportunity to select older models. He realized that it was partly a result of the emotional relationship that some users built up with the system.
“If you have followed the GPT-5 rollout, one thing that you may notice is how much adherence some people have on certain AI models. It feels different and stronger than the types of bonds that people had on previous technologies (and suddenly used old models, on which the users were dependent on their workflows).
In another post, he said that the company “underestimated with surely some of the things that people like in GPT-4O are important to them, even if GPT-5 cuts off better in most cases”. He noticed that there were “very different opinions on the relative strength of GPT-4O against GPT-5”.
A new update means that users can open the settings to Chatgpt and select an option for “Show Legacy Models”.
Mr. Altman also said that Openai would end the introduction of the new GPT-5 and then react to the symptoms that users have over the new model. That would include that it will be “warmer”, he said.
In the social media, many users complained that the answers from GPT-5 are less friendly or loving who are with his predecessors. In a reddit contribution, for example, a user called the old system “Mein Baby” and said that they were moved to tears by changing.
